Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Rusk County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means you accept all terms below. Do not continue using the site if you disagree.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated site is not affiliated with a government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource points readers to criminal-record sources in Rusk County, Texas. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents for users.

Its content identifies Rusk County Sheriff, local criminal courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry as official sources, and may connect readers with outside research tools. Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of DPS criminal-history record information, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to many government records.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Users agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated access tools
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass any person using information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate any federal, Texas, or local law
  • Gain unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Disrupt the service or impair access for others

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate. Such conduct may be criminal. Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data receives special protection under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 and is published for public-safety awareness, never vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no background check, credit report, or consumer report. No site or linked-tool data may be used to:

  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Evaluate a housing applicant
  • Make an employment decision
  • Determine eligibility for a license, benefit, or permit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A check for a regulated purpose must come through Texas DPS where appropriate or a compliant consumer reporting agency.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General Rusk County information cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to one person. Consult a licensed Texas attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content is supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • Partner results are complete or correctly matched
  • Pages contain no error, bug, or security flaw
  • The service remains uninterrupted
  • Information is always complete, accurate, and current

Criminal records change as cases are filed, resolved, made subject to nondisclosure, or expunged. Gaps can occur, and no page is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, courts, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control a destination's content, privacy practices, charges, or availability. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Rusk County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use or reliance on content from this site or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and actions caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. A dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in Texas, subject to applicable jurisdiction rules.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the new version is posted.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all others remain effective. The affected provision is modified only as much as needed for enforcement.
