Why We Built This Site
Texas provides several routes to public criminal-record information, yet each office holds a different part of the record. Rusk County Sheriff handles its reports, jail records, and local custody questions. The District Clerk keeps felony case files, while the County Clerk maintains County Court at Law misdemeanor records. Texas DPS runs the statewide criminal-history repository and public conviction search. TDCJ tracks state-prison custody, and DPS also operates the public sex offender registry. We bring the verified contacts, official portals, known fees, and request steps for those separate systems together in one Rusk County reference.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Texas court, law-enforcement office, or state agency. Our role has firm limits:
- We cannot issue a certified court file, criminal record, or rap sheet
- We cannot submit an expunction petition or public-information request for a reader
- We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a person's record
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or case as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, phone, or procedure has not changed
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as Rusk County Sheriff, the proper clerk, or Texas DPS. We can identify the likely office, but we cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their services, results, and prices. If a tool leads to a paid enrollment, we may receive a referral fee, which supports free access to this resource. We do not set a partner's charges or determine what its search returns.
