Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. The provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we may retain the message to answer it. We keep it within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical data when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when available
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Device and operating-system type
- Browser name and version
- Your device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help us understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics vendors combine that usage data for reporting. You may block cookies in your browser, though doing so can change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing search requests to the selected outside service
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Maintaining site speed and availability
- Measuring which pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Rusk County guidance identifies official sources such as the Sheriff, local courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of DPS criminal-history record information, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to many public records. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern all information submitted to those tools, including retention and sharing. Review the provider's policy before entering a query because we do not control its practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Rusk County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside tools. Once you leave, the destination's policy applies. Read it before sharing personal data.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be received by:
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing submitted queries
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard safeguards for collected data, but no internet system can be guaranteed secure. Reasonable precautions reduce risk without eliminating the possibility of a breach.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. We will remove such data when made aware of it.
Your Data Rights
Texas consumer-protection law, including the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act in Business & Commerce Code Chapter 541, may provide additional rights based on applicability. At a minimum, you can:
- Request deletion of your data
- Ask to correct inaccurate information
- Obtain a copy of information held about you
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice

We may revise this policy. A new version takes effect when posted here with an updated effective date.
